Hi there, I'm Maria.

The path to professional success rarely follows a straight line—and neither does the path to personal fulfillment. I work with executives, entrepreneurs, and high-achieving professionals who are navigating significant transitions, questioning long-held assumptions about their lives, or struggling to integrate the different parts of who they are. Using culturally informed, evidence-based approaches, I help clients develop clarity during uncertainty, process complex emotions, and build lives that honor both their ambitions and their deeper values.

My Approach

High-achieving professionals often carry invisible burdens—cultural expectations, family pressures, the weight of being first or being different in their professional spaces. I integrate Psychodynamic Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and culturally responsive approaches to help clients understand how their personal histories shape their present challenges. Our work explores the stories you’ve been told about success, the identities you’ve constructed, and the parts of yourself that may have been set aside along the way. I create a space where nuance is welcome and where your full experience—professional, personal, and cultural—can be honored.

My Focus

I specialize in working with executives, business owners, attorneys, and other accomplished professionals who are facing pivotal moments—career transitions, identity questions, relationship crossroads, or the disorientation that can follow major success. Whether you’re a first-generation professional navigating unfamiliar territory, feeling caught between who you’ve become and where you came from, processing grief or loss while maintaining demanding responsibilities, or simply sensing that something needs to change—I provide a confidential space for the kind of reflection that high-stakes lives rarely allow. My expertise lies in helping people integrate complexity rather than compartmentalize it.

My Communication Style

I believe therapy works best when it feels like a real relationship—grounded, present, and human. My style is warm and engaged, but I’m not afraid to ask hard questions or sit with difficult emotions. I bring curiosity about your unique story rather than assumptions about what your challenges mean. I’ll help you slow down enough to hear yourself think, notice patterns that have become invisible, and reconnect with wisdom you may have learned to ignore. You can expect presence, compassion, and a genuine investment in your growth. I meet you where you are while keeping sight of where you want to go.

My Journey to Mental Healthcare

My path into clinical psychology was shaped by witnessing the unique psychological challenges faced by high-achievers from diverse backgrounds—people whose success stories often obscure the complexity of their internal experiences. Throughout my doctoral training and clinical work, I developed a deep interest in how culture, family systems, and personal history intersect with professional ambition. I’ve focused on understanding how people construct identity across different contexts and how therapy can help integrate those different selves into a more coherent whole. This perspective allows me to work with the full person, not just the presenting problem. When I’m not in session, I’m usually exploring local coffee shops, practicing yoga, or getting lost in a good novel.

My Goals for You

Our work together will be both exploratory and grounded. Whether you’re navigating a major life transition, healing from burnout, reconnecting with relationships that have suffered, or searching for a sense of purpose that feels authentically yours, we’ll establish meaningful goals while remaining open to what emerges. I’ll help you develop greater self-awareness, build capacity for emotional complexity, and make decisions aligned with your values rather than others’ expectations. My ultimate goal is helping you live with more integration and intention—where your outer life reflects your inner truth and where success feels like something you’ve defined for yourself.

Your First Session With Me

Our initial session is an opportunity to begin building trust and understanding. We’ll explore what’s bringing you to therapy now, the broader context of your life and work, and what you’re hoping to gain from our time together. I’ll ask questions that help me understand not just your current challenges but your history, your relationships, and the cultural and personal factors that shape your experience. This is a conversation, not an interview—I want to hear your story in your own words. You’ll leave with a sense of connection, initial insights, and clarity about whether working together feels right.
