How we work
How the work actually gets done
Most of what a therapy website tells you is what it believes. This page is what we do: how you are matched, how session length gets decided, who chooses the method, and what never leaves the room.
Four decisions, made deliberately
01You are matched. You are not left to choose.
02Session length is a clinical decision, not a billing one.
03The clinician chooses the method, then explains it.
04Your care leaves no footprint you did not choose.
The method
What our approach actually means in practice
Every practice says it is different. Here is the part that is procedural rather than promotional: four decisions we make about your care, and who makes each one.
01
You are matched. You are not left to choose.
Most platforms hand you a directory and call that a choice. Picking a clinician from a grid of headshots is the task you are least equipped to do at the moment you need care most, and it is a common reason people quit before the fourth session.
We read your intake and place you with the clinician whose training and current caseload actually fit what you described. If the fit is wrong we rematch you, and you do not pay for the process. Matching happens within 48 hours of your inquiry, by people, not an algorithm.
02
Session length is a clinical decision, not a billing one.
The fifty-minute hour is an insurance artifact. It exists because that is the unit reimbursement was built around, not because a marital rupture or a trauma resolves neatly inside it.
Because we are private-pay, length is set by what the work needs: a 50-minute session for ongoing weekly work, a 90-minute session when a topic needs room to open and close in one sitting, or a 3-hour intensive when your calendar makes weekly impossible.
03
The clinician chooses the method, then explains it.
Our clinicians work from evidence-based frameworks. Which one they use is theirs to determine and yours to understand. You should be able to say what approach your therapist is using and why it was chosen for you. If you cannot, something has gone wrong.
What that looks like differs by presenting issue. Burnout and decision fatigue are treated differently from high-stakes anxiety, imposter syndrome, or depression.
04
Your care leaves no footprint you did not choose.
No insurance claim is filed. No diagnostic code goes to a payer, a broker, or an employer. There is no utilization review, no medical-necessity determination, and no third party deciding when your care ends.
That is the practical reason the model matters, and it applies to individual, couples, and family work alike. What it costs is on the pricing page, in full, before you speak to anyone.
