Confidential Therapy for Crypto Traders and Long-Term Holders
Therapy for crypto traders, including the loss you have told nobody about
CEREVITY matches crypto traders with licensed clinicians who understand a market that never closes, a position that moved while you slept, and a number there is nobody to say out loud to. 100% virtual. Private-pay. No insurance record is created.
The short answer
Therapy for crypto traders at CEREVITY is confidential, private-pay psychotherapy for people whose sleep, mood and self-worth track a market that never closes. Clinicians treat the person, not the position: no trading or investment advice is given, no view on any asset is offered, and no insurance claim, diagnosis code or carrier record is created. Sessions run 50 minutes, 90 minutes or 3 hours.
The question traders ask before they will say a figure out loud
If you finally say the number in a room, where does it travel?
Almost everybody who trades has one figure they have never said to another person. Here is exactly what private-pay care creates, what it does not create, and the part that is not ours to answer for you.
No claim, so no payer file
Private-pay means no claim is submitted, no diagnosis code is generated, and no insurer database records that you attended. No superbill is issued and no claim is ever filed on your behalf, so nothing about this is sitting in a payer system waiting to be pulled by somebody later.
The file stays with your clinician
Your clinical record is held by your licensed clinician alone, under HIPAA and legal privilege. It does not reach an employer, a fund, a counterparty, a family member, or anybody in a group chat. Nobody is notified that you started, and nothing about it is reported to anyone, at any point.
What a policy or a form asks of you is not ours to answer
Reporting and disclosure language differs by jurisdiction, by employer policy and by document, and it changes. We will not tell you what an exchange, an employer or a tax form asks of you: the only reliable version is the current text in front of you, read with your own counsel or tax professional. What we can state plainly is what CEREVITY generates: no claim, no diagnosis code, no carrier record, and no trading or tax advice.
What actually walks into therapy with a crypto trader
Not screen time in the abstract. Six patterns our clinicians hear from people whose market has no closing bell and whose week has no edges.
A market with no closing bell
There is no evening, weekend or holiday that is structurally off. Every hour you are not looking is an hour something could be happening, and your nervous system learned that a long time ago.
The number nobody knows
One figure exists that you have never said out loud to a partner, a friend or a parent. Carrying it silently is not the same thing as handling it, although from the outside the two look identical.
Sleep organized around a chart
You wake, check, and tell yourself that was the last time. The waking stopped being a decision a while ago, and it does not stop when the position does.
The wins are unshareable too
A good outcome is as impossible to talk about as a bad one, for different reasons. Neither one gets processed anywhere, so both just accumulate.
The number as a verdict on you
When it is up you are shrewd and deserving. When it is down you are a fool who should have known better. The market is not issuing judgments about your character, but it is indistinguishable from one.
A group chat is not a room
The people who understand this best are pseudonymous and often positioned. They know what you hold and nothing about your life, and telling them the actual hard part was never an option.
What a course of therapy for crypto traders involves
Clinical treatment of the person. No view on any asset and no trading advice, at any point in it.
From intake to formulation
The opening sessions build a picture: what the market is doing to sleep, appetite, concentration and the people around you, what is ordinary stress and what has become depression, panic or an anxiety disorder, whether the checking has taken on a compulsive shape, and whether alcohol or stimulants quietly became part of the routine. Your clinician tests that picture with validated instruments so there is a baseline instead of an impression.
By the third or fourth session there is an explicit formulation and a plan matched to it. You will be told what the approach is, what it is for, and what would count as it not working.
How it fits somebody who lives in probabilities
People who trade usually arrive already analyzing themselves, often accurately and always in market language. Our clinicians work with a focus for the hour, specific practice between sessions, and outcome measures that get re-run, so change is inspectable. If nothing is moving, the approach changes.
None of that turns the hour into a review of your positions. Your clinician will not open a chart with you, will not comment on any asset, and will not tell you what to hold or sell. What gets treated is the person carrying all of it.
What moves first, and what takes longer
Early: sleep, the reflexive checking, the physical jolt when a notification lands, the fuse with whoever is nearest when it does. The night waking usually shifts before anything else does.
Later, the harder material: the loss you never told anybody about, what you concluded about yourself the week it happened, the shame that made it unspeakable afterward, and what you were actually trying to reach that a number was supposed to settle. That work does not require you to change one thing about how you trade, and your clinician holds no opinion on that either way.
Treatment, not a course or a mentor: what a clinician is for
What somebody in this position gets offered is adjacent to the screen: a paid community, a course, a mentor with a track record. Those exist for another purpose entirely. None can take a clinical history, none can treat what a history turns up, and none of them holds privilege over what you say.
| CEREVITY, Licensed Therapy | Paid Communities, Courses or Mentors | |
|---|---|---|
| Who is treating you | Clinicians who hold their own license (PhD, PsyD, LCSW, LMFT) and answer personally to a state board for every hour of care they provide | No licensure required and no board to answer to. Any track record is self-reported |
| What it can treat | Depression, anxiety, panic, compulsive checking, sleep disturbance and substance concerns: formulation first, then evidence-based treatment matched to it | Nothing clinical. Market content and community sit outside any treatment scope |
| Privilege and confidentiality | Your clinician holds the file under HIPAA, and therapist-patient privilege is recognized in court. Privilege is real without being absolute: a narrow set of exceptions, imminent danger among them, applies | None. A paid channel is a room of people who hold positions of their own and owe you nothing |
| Trading and investment advice | None, ever. Clinicians hold no view on any asset and give no trading, investment or tax advice. No claim reaches a payer either, so nothing enters an insurance record | Usually the entire product being sold |
| Right for | Sleep loss, anxiety, panic, depression, shame after a loss, isolation, and the point where checking stopped being a choice | Market education and peer company when nothing is clinically wrong |
How the match happens, with no directory and no form to filter
Tell us what is actually happening: the hours, the sleep, the thing you have not said to anybody. A person reads it and makes the match.
Where we practice: nationwide. Across the PsyPact member states our psychologists work on that authority, and clinicians licensed state by state cover the rest of the country. What governs is where you are physically located during the session, not where you bank or where you file. Tell us where you actually live and spend your months, and matching handles the licensure. No office by design: no waiting room, no front desk, nobody who watches you arrive.

Three session lengths, matched to what is in front of you. Most traders settle into a weekly hour; some open with a longer block after a bad stretch.
The weekly hour, held as the one fixed appointment in a week with no other structure in it.
90minExtendedHalf again as long, for the stretch where a standard hour keeps stopping just short of the thing you came to say.
3hoursIntensiveOne long block after a loss, or a run of them, when weekly is not enough to hold it.

One trader, one number
“I have never said the actual figure to my girlfriend. She knows there was a bad year. She does not know the number. I said it in the fourth session and then sat there waiting for something to happen, and nothing happened. The only question I got back was what I had decided about myself that week. I sleep through most nights now. I still have not told her, and I am not going to pretend that part is fine.

The clinical territory around a screen that never closes
What traders bring is rarely one clean presentation. These pages cover what usually sits underneath it and where the work tends to go next.
The position is not the only thing carrying risk.
Matching takes one conversation, with no employer, fund or platform anywhere in it: usually the same day, often within the hour.
